maintaining glass balustrades & pool fencing
Glass balustrades & pool fencing are the perfect option for your balcony, stairs or pool area as they look amazing & allow you to preserve your views. However, you will need to look after your balustrading so they look their best.
Cleaning Glass-
Glass balustrading is low maintenance compared to other materials, but do need to be cleaned regularly to remove dirt & contaminants from the glass, leaving it sparkling clear.
You can clean the glass or S/S fixings simply by washing them with a mild detergent & a soft cloth. Rinse the detergent off afterwards with fresh water, then wipe off any watermarks with a dry soft cloth leaving your glass streak free.
One thing to be aware of when cleaning your glass, is not to use strong cleaning products, do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents & do not use products that are alcohol based or acidic in nature.
Protecting your Glass-
Adding a form of protection to your glass is a much preferable option, as it will stop damaging occurring & make the cleaning process much easier in the future.
You can treat glass with a special wax that reduces how often & how long it takes to clean the glass.
Another option is to use a protective glass coating that can be purchased at most hardware stores.
